Family Connections – Triplets in Richmond
“Triplets” in Richmond
Ronnie, Donnie and Chris Hittle have experience at Quanex—they’ve worked in the Richmond, Indiana, Quanex North American Fenestration (NAF) plant for a combined total of 117 years.
Ronnie, who operates the Richmond warehouse, has been with Quanex since 1983. Donnie—Ronnie’s twin brother—is the astragal department lead and joined in 1984. And then there’s Chris—not truly a triplet, but Ronnie and Donnie’s younger brother—who is the shipping team lead and joined the company in 1987. All three credit Richmond’s family atmosphere in part for their combined longevity with the company.
“It’s just a good place to work,” said Donnie. “There are plenty of people here who have worked here a long, long time. The three of us just happen to be brothers.”
“It’s always been a very stable job, and I’ve always enjoyed the people whom I’ve worked with—including my family,” added Ronnie.
Though their individual work hasn’t often intersected, the three of them cite some extracurricular activities with co-workers—local softball and basketball—that have brought them closer together over the years.
“I do occasionally have to bug the two of them to get stuff shipped on time,” said Chris. “I can still be a pesky little brother.”
