Custom Solutions from Engineered Wood Products
Engineered wood is a derivative of solid wood products made by binding layers of solid wood together with adhesives. Quanex purchases our medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and particleboard from trusted suppliers across the United States and Canada. We then process the MDF into kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors and drawers. Quanex Custom Components recently invested in a new MDF line to produce high-quality MDF cabinet doors from start to finish at our Wahpeton, North Dakota facility. Utilizing the newest technology and automated equipment, the MDF door line in Wahpeton can produce over 7,000 quality cabinet doors per week.
Choosing engineered wood like MDF has its advantages. it’s easier to machine, doesn’t split or crack, and offers a more flawless appearance than solid wood. This means homeowners can enjoy the clean lines and smooth finishes they desire, without the drawbacks of solid wood.
Benefits:
- More eco-friendly and sustainable than solid wood
- More cost-effective than solid wood
- More resistant to moisture than solid wood
- Available in a wide variety of door styles with custom options available
