Under One Roof: How Quanex Delivers Comprehensive Solutions for OEMs
With the broadest portfolio of essential products and components in our market segment, Quanex is uniquely positioned to grow in new and exciting ways to serve our customers.
With the addition of hardware and access products, Quanex now boasts a new and unique competitive advantage: the broadest portfolio of high-performance components for fenestration, building and construction, renovation, and more.
It’s everything that contributes to a higher-performing building envelope—all Under One Roof.
Our goal of becoming the leading single-source supplier to the building industry hinges on leveraging that portfolio to its full potential. Here’s a closer look at how we’ll do it:
For Everything a Building Needs
Homes and buildings are the sum of many different systems and components working in harmony to create comfortable and aesthetically pleasing interiors, structurally sound and architecturally impressive exteriors, hospitable outdoor spaces, and safe and efficient operation in every respect.
Quanex can deliver it all. Natural wood solutions for cabinetry and architectural applications. Access solutions for residential and commercial applications. Window and door components, including IG spacers, hardware, PVC profiles, thresholds, and more. Custom rubber compounding for a variety of different performance demands.
“Whether it’s on the building, in the building, or outside the building, Quanex has the technology to elevate performance wherever it’s applied,” said Jack Meluskey, vice president of sales, North America, hardware & extrusions. “It’s our goal to be a comprehensive solutions provider to customers in a wide variety of markets.”
It’s all possible with the depth of our manufacturing capabilities. We offer:
- Global polymer and composite extrusion
- Highly automated vinyl extrusion
- Solid and engineered wood processing facilities across the U.S.
- Die casting, injection molding, metal stamping, and powder painting.
“Our core competencies enable us to deliver solutions for the entire building,” said Bob Daniels, president, Hardware Solutions. “We’re focused on doing exactly that—and it will power our and the success of our customers for years to come.”
Unmatched Value for OEMs
While it’s far from the only market we serve, leveraging our new breadth, the fenestration industry provides a good example of how Quanex can deliver a unique value proposition for customers.
To put it simply, a lot goes into a window or door. And manufacturing them requires assembling numerous parts and systems, including:
- High-performance PVC profiles for structural strength and energy efficiency
- Spacer systems for insulating glass
- Quality hardware for reliable and intuitive operability
- A complementary window or door screen
- Grilles, jambs, thresholds, and seals
Quanex Custom Components provides another useful example of how we deliver comprehensive solutions for customers. With a complete offering of hardwood, engineered wood, and decorative laminate veneer capabilities, we can offer cabinet doors, household millwork, profile wrapped components, and cabinet accessories all as a one-stop shop.
“We’re hard at work developing the optimal way in which we can deliver a full suite of high-performance components to our customers,” said Jack Meluskey, vice president of sales, North America, hardware & extrusions, Quanex. “Manufacturers in any industry appreciate a single-source supplier for numerous critical parts, because the benefits are real.”
Some of those benefits can include:
- Single source supplier with industry expertise
- Cross-functional sales & technical support
- Unified quality standards
- Less variation
- A single, accountable owner for component quality
And more. Plus, we’re continuing to develop additional solutions that will drive further value.
“With the depth of our portfolio, the possibilities are endless,” added Joe Erb, sales solutions manager. “For architects working on commercial projects, we can offer a range of essential solutions that they can more easily specify. A pre-assembled cabinet component could save folks in the wood industry time and labor. For a window and door OEM, we might offer a high-performance profile with built-in hardware components. It’s all about providing a comprehensive product portfolio in ways our competitors can’t.”
The Power of Cross-Selling
Key to meeting our potential with the breadth of our capabilities is bolstering our cross-selling, enabling our sales teams to best leverage the full portfolio for interested customers.
“One area we’ll be closely focused on in the coming months is elevating our cross-selling capabilities,” Meluskey said. “Right now, there might be opportunities for new growth with existing customers that we haven’t yet identified—and taking advantage of those will be critical.”
“The organization expanded its manufacturing capabilities, so now we have to get our entire portfolio of products in front of our customers around the world, in regions where that wasn’t possible before,” he added. “Our product management, marketing, and sales teams will be aggressively pursuing all these opportunities in the future.”

Getting Our Message Out
Getting our message to customers—both existing and new—will also be highly important to meeting our goals. We must ensure the market understands the strengths that the new Quanex offers—and we’re hard at work delivering that message.
At GlassBuild America 2025, for example, we placed a strong focus on our Under One Roof theme to position Quanex as a one-stop shop for the broadest offerings in the fenestration market.
“We wanted to create a theme that truly encompassed everything we can offer our customers, which has expanded significantly over the past year,” said Carrie Scheetz, senior marketing manager, Quanex Extruded Solutions, and the lead for Quanex’s GlassBuild presence each year. “Being able to create something that draws attention to Quanex and what we can bring to the industry is exciting, and it was a team effort. Ultimately, the goal is to educate show attendees, develop new business opportunities, and to elevate exposure to the entire Quanex portfolio. We want people to know who Quanex is, and the year was a major success on that front.”
The Power of Our People
Maximizing the potential of our complete suite of solutions depends not just on the products themselves—but the people who make them possible.
There is power and value in being One Quanex, and it’s something we must harness to meet our full potential. Everyone in this company has an important role to play, and it’s our intention to build a culture where each voice makes us better.
Our people. Our solutions. It’s a powerful combination—all Under One Roof.
