A Part of Something Bigger^® means being a part of the Quanex family, and often that means working with your family too. And with the addition of Tyman and its businesses, we have new family connections coming to Quanex. Let’s catch up with some Quanex families.

Welcoming New Families to the Quanex Neighborhood

Process engineer Dalton Meester joined AmesburyTruth full-time six years ago after an initial period of working as part of the summer internship program. Since engineering has always interested him, he loves his job and day-to-day responsibilities. And he has more than just a manager watching over him.

“It’s very nice to see him at work,” said Rhonda Meester, production team lead and a 19-year company veteran who is also Dalton’s mom. “To have him get this amazing job, it’s kind of fulfilling for me to see what he does, and he does it so well.”

“I know she’s watching,” Dalton said, laughing. “I can’t get away with anything.”

Meanwhile, while Rhonda is walking the floor, she sometimes gets mistaken for her sister Ranae Johnson, a customer support associate and 12-year veteran of AmesburyTruth. “I’ll walk downstairs to the breakroom,” Ranae said, “and someone will talk to me as if I’m Rhonda, and I’ll nod along like, ‘OK, I have no idea what you’re talking about, but OK, yeah.’ We just roll with it.” For their part, Dalton, Rhonda, and Ranae are intrigued by the similarities Quanex shares with the former Tyman and its businesses, and they’re excited about being A Part of Something Bigger at Quanex. What they’ve heard lines up with how connected they are with their teams.

“We have a lot of really good people who want to do a good job,” Dalton said. “It’s really easy to communicate with everyone.”

“It’s very family-oriented and flexible,” Ranae said.

“What I like best about working here is the respect people have for each other and the responsibility they take for their work,” Rhonda said. “From everything I’ve heard [about Quanex], it sounds like a really good fit.”
