A Family Affair in St. Cloud

Take a walk inside our St. Cloud, Minnesota, QCC plant, and you probably won’t have to go far before you bump into a member of the Dullinger clan.

“I’ve been with Quanex for the past 18 years, and we come from a large family,” said Sue Dullinger, business analyst for QCC. “I’ve always enjoyed my time working here, so it felt natural that some of my family members have joined over that time.”

Sue’s family members who work for QCC include Dale Dullinger, Sue’s husband; Brian Dullinger, Sue’s and Dale’s son; and Katlyn Lewandowski, Colleen and Gregory Dullinger, Sue’s and Dale’s nieces and nephew. Dale has eleven brothers and sisters—the family describes themselves as very close-knit and frequently has get-togethers.

“Greg, my brother, worked here before I did and introduced me to the company and helped me apply,” said Katlyn, who works in the stile and rail department alongside Dale Dullinger. “It kind of snowballed from there—I told Colleen about my experience, and she applied shortly after. We had both just recently graduated from high school and were looking for work, and QCC was a really great opportunity.”

“It was nice to come into a new working environment where I knew a few people,” Colleen said. “But it wasn’t long before I learned how welcoming and helpful everyone who works here is. The entire team feels like family, and I think it’s a huge reason why so many people stay here for so many years. I consider a lot of the people I work with close friends.”
