Quanex Cambridge Facility Earns ISO 45001-2018 Certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management
HOUSTON, (NYSE: NX) – In addition to its existing ISO 9001 certification, the Quanex IG Systems facility in Cambridge, Ohio, has earned the ISO 45001-2018 designation for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management. As a safety driven organization, Quanex emphasizes the well-being of employees and commits to continuous safety improvement.
“If the team in Cambridge has proven anything in the last two years, it is that we rise to every challenge and persevere,” said Janice Williamson, plant manager for the Quanex Cambridge facility. “I am so proud of the team for earning this important distinction and for putting a solid framework in place to manage our risks and to find opportunities to prevent worker illnesses and injuries.”
The goal of ISO 45001-2018 is to enable organizations to provide a safe and healthy workplace by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as proactively improving OH&S performance. The Quanex Cambridge facility earned high marks in its business and legal resources training modules, 3E system for easy employee access to safety data sheets, layered safety audits, behavior-based safety audits and safety committees.
“We scored highly in many areas, but there is always room to grow and improve,” Williamson said. “For example, we are in the process of introducing even more proactive measures and employee education initiatives that will help to further our health and safety mindset.
