Michigan Seamless Tube

1927

The Michigan Seamless Tube Company is incorporated.

1933 Tubing Production

1933

Production of tubing made from steel alloys begins.

1945

Woodcraft Industries founded by German immigrants Paul Dlugosch and Theodore Ritche in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

1956

The Company expands into Texas.

1965

Standard Tube is acquired.

Wall Street Nyse - About Us

Stock is listed on New York Stock Exchange for the first time.

1974

MacSteel, Michigan, plant begins operations.

1977

Michigan Seamless Tube changes its name to Quanex Corporation and moves its headquarters to Texas.

The Quanex Foundation

Quanex is dedicated to giving back to the communities where we live and work. The Quanex Foundation has been in place for nearly 50 years, with a mission of giving back to the communities where Quanex operates. Each year, The Quanex Foundation donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to hometown charities. The Foundation also administers the McHattie Scholarship program, which awards dependent children of our employees with academic scholarships for continuing education.
