What to Expect at GlassBuild 2019

by Erin Johnson

It’s that time once again—GlassBuild America returns to Atlanta in September. At Quanex, we’re getting ready for another successful show, and our experts are looking forward to making new connections and showcasing our solutions for the toughest industry challenges.

Here’s a rundown of what we’re looking forward to this year:

New codes, new technology. Energy performance is a top concern for new construction all over the world. Recent reports out of California and New York see those states targeting highly ambitious energy goals in the very near future. Elsewhere, building standards like Passive House are gaining increased traction.

How can the fenestration industry ensure that windows and glass continue to play a vital role, delivering occupancy comfort while meeting the toughest energy demands? Quanex is proud to offer a range of solutions for the world’s toughest applications, including Super Spacer®, the leading warm-edge spacer for insulating glass (IG), Mikron® high-performance vinyl systems and much more.

Something to celebrate. At the show this year, we’re especially excited to celebrate special anniversaries of each of these trusted brands. Super Spacer celebrates 30 years of proven field performance, while Mikron® celebrates 50 years of service to the industry. These anniversaries help us appreciate where we’ve been and where we’re going. As the industry demands higher performance, longevity and experience matter. We’re proud to deliver each of those qualities to our customers.

We’re also celebrating our employees and our customers and how our service offerings are everyone’s priority from the corner office to the shipping dock and everywhere in between. Our proven products have been trusted for decades, but we know our customers have a choice when it comes to components suppliers. It’s our mission to make that choice easy with best-in-class quality, service and support at every turn. Be sure to visit Booth #2517 to find out more!

Educational opportunities. GlassBuild’s Express Learning Sessions are always a good opportunity to hear something new from an industry expert, and the best part is that they’re short enough to squeeze into a busy schedule.

This year, Joe Erb, Quanex commercial sales specialist, will be presenting on this year’s Express Learning stage. Joe is a dynamic speaker and 25-year industry veteran with a wealth of knowledge on the commercial and glazing side of the business. His presentation, After Automation: Next Steps for Fabricators will cover the role of automation and advanced technologies in solving business challenges for fabricators, such as the labor shortage, quality control and efficiency overall. You can catch it 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17.

Forging connections. Networking with customers and industry peers is my favorite part of each year’s show. That’s the one thing about the fenestration business—it’s small world. And you get to know people both professionally and personally throughout the years. It’s just always great to see everyone in one place. We hope you’ll stop by Booth #2517 for all the latest from Quanex and celebrate with us!
