Employee Spotlight: Regina Terrill
by Guest Blogger
In Focus is sitting down with Quanex employees who exhibit exemplary service to our customers. This month’s spotlight is on Regina Terrill, inside sales manager for the vinyl extrusions part of the business.

IF: Tell us a little bit about your history with Quanex.
Regina: I joined Mikron® in 1995 just after the opening of the plant in Richmond, Kentucky. At that time, there were four small PVC extruders in the plant, and I was one of only 20 employees. I was hired as a Quality Assurance Coordinator, which gave me exposure to every detail of our products and nearly every facet of the business. It was an excellent training ground. I was later promoted to Quality Assurance Manager and spent nearly 19 years in that role, traveling to customer plants, building relationships and learning about their specific needs.
From there, it was a natural jump to work with the Customer Service team until earlier this year when I accepted the Inside Sales Manager position. Needless to say, Quanex has given me numerous opportunities to grow, but my commitment has remained the same throughout–to satisfy the customer.
IF: What inspires you at work?
Regina: I am inspired most when I know I am making a positive impact and finding solutions. I have always had that at Mikron® and now Quanex. It’s an exciting time to be part of this team, because our businesses and plants are becoming more integrated. There are strong people and teams across all divisions and locations, and it’s so cool how everyone is working together to make a positive impact for our customers.
Also, the leadership team truly listens and values the work that employees are doing, trusting us to do the best job possible for our customers and supporting us every step of the way. We all have a common goal to service our customers. There are so many good vibes right now, and I’m excited to see what comes next.
IF: What does service mean to you?
Regina: Service means being timely, friendly, efficient and backing it all with a solid knowledge base so you can help customers through challenges, large or small. I enjoy making connections, building relationships and delivering exceptional service. It’s part of who I am, and I’m happy to be part of a company that values those relationships as much as I do personally.
IF: You’re new to the inside sales manager position. What are your goals in this role?
Regina: I’ve been transitioning to this role over the past six months but have stayed heavily involved with the customer service team throughout. Customer service will always be part of who I am, but I’m also excited about the opportunities ahead as inside sales manager. This position was tailor-made for me as I get to become a bridge between operations and sales. I know I will be able to make an impact internally and externally.
IF: You told us what inspires you at work. What inspires you in your personal life?
Regina: That’s easy. My family. I have two children and two grandchildren and spend as much time with them as possible. My seven-year-old granddaughter is in competitive dance, and I thoroughly enjoy traveling to watch her perform. I also love music and play both the guitar and the piano. But very few people actually know that!
IF: Last question. What do you look forward to most in the coming year at Quanex?
Regina: Just getting back to basics and building connections and relationships with our customers. With Quanex becoming more integrated and the leadership team providing so much trust and support, I think the company has an incredible future–and I’m thrilled to be part of it all.
