A sculptural statement of education and artistic expression

A sculptural statement of education and artistic expression, the 50,000-sq.-ft Kent State University Tuscarawas (New Philadelphia, Ohio) Performing Arts Center (PAC) will culturally and financially invigorate its community and campus, while standing as a regional landmark symbolizing the progressive aspirations of the Tuscarawas Valley.

A glass and metal façade curves around the fly tower, clad in precast concrete and articulated with aluminum fins. The sense of fluid movement through material echoes the activity within. The design responds to multiple vantage points from the campus and the surrounding community, and the swooping metal component focuses internal views to adjacent campus landmarks.
