Owens’ state-of-the-art facilities are located in northern Wisconsin, in the heart of some of the best hardwood forests in North America. There, Owens combines high quality Baltic birch plywood with a solid hardwood wear layer to create a truly remarkable engineered flooring product.

Owens coined the term Plankfloor to describe it. Plankfloor has revolutionized the way hardwood flooring is specified, installed, and finished. The slogan “Solidly Engineered” is often used to describe our product. Unlike thin laminates, the sawn, (not peeled) 3/16" (4.5mm) wear layer can be sanded and refinished just like solid product. As a result, the life expectancy, and installed appearance, is indistinguishable from traditional ¾" flooring.
