Quanex uses proprietary stainless steel tooling for distortion-free profiles with an ultra-smooth, semi-gloss finish. Our "modified" stainless steel is produced only in Sweden. Quanex Tooling is in-house for complete control of production and tuning processes to result in quick-to-market new profiles and systems. To get the best tool quality, we import the finest steel to our North American Tooling facility.

Our stainless steel calibration tooling components are manufactured with aircraft-grade hardness that maintains profile dimensional integrity to deliver and retain tighter dimensional tolerances. This assures you can fabricate consistent quality windows from order to order.

Quanex tool EDM machining and tuning process is statistically controlled to deliver profiles with smoother surface finish that resists dirt collection, keeping windows and doors looking great for years.


It also helps refract damaging ultra-violet light to result in superior weathering performance.

With our highly skilled machinists, many with aircraft industry backgrounds, combined with our state-of-the-art Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Milling Centers and our new Mori Seiki Horizontal Machining Center, our Tooling capabilities are among the best in the world. They should be - we have over 35 years of extrusion tooling technology and experience supporting 3,000+ active extrusion profiles. Our tooling operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to speed delivery of new profiles to our customers.
