MACSTEEL utilizes three scrap-based mini-mills to produce up to 1.3 million tons of engineered Special Bar Quality (SBQ) steel bars. The mills operate using a low-cost continuous casting process with refined blending and finishing practices including electric arc furnaces for melting, ladle metallurgy injection for refined chemical composition and vacuum arc degassing for metallurgical cleanliness. It is this unique combination of technologies that allows MACSTEEL to produce the ultra-clean SBQ bars demanded by its discerning vehicular powertrain customers.

MACSTEEL HEAT TREAT is a state-of-the-art induction heat treat facility specializing in value-added bar and tube heat treating. Full support services include straightening, customized cutting, tensile testing and sophisticated metallographic analysis.

MACSTEEL NITROSTEEL applies a treatment to harden the surface of carbon and alloy steel bars and tubes. The process combines the high surface hardness and corrosion resistance of nitriding with the additional corrosion resistance gained by oxidation. NitroSteel’s products are environmentally friendly alternatives to chrome-plated products.

MACSTEEL ATMOSPHERE ANNEALING provides a variety of value added metal services including heat treating, shearing, sawing and phosphate coating.  Their focus is to offer a combination of quality, price, delivery and technical support to its customers in the forging, cold forming and foundry industries.
